Semente Surfboards officially launches the Bondo model in EPS (Expanded Polystyrene).
Semente Surfboards has spent more than a year researching and testing epoxy eps material and carbon fiber layups with feedback from its team riders.
The Bondo model, launched on the market last summer, was chosen as a starting point for the application of these materials. We tested this model and fine tuned all the details before our public release.
The contest results of Vasco Ribeiro, Gony Zubizarreta and Marlon Lipke all with victories in the MEO national circut events this year and Camilla Kemp reaching several finals has been our proof that both the Bondo and EPS Epoxy carbon reinforced model are a winning combination.
These results all reflect on the models characteristics in terms of strength, lightness and flexibility that raise its efficiency in small waves to another level.
“We started working a year ago in EPS carbon epoxy surfboards”, said shaper Nick Uricchio and one of Semente’s owners. “We’ve been using EPS foam with epoxy resin and carbon fiber to strengthen it. We decided the best model to start with would be our Bondo since it’s been a really successful small wave board for us. The results show pretty much since our team riders Vasco Ribeiro, Gony Zubizarreta and Marlon Lipke have won MEO League events and Camilla Kemp reached several finals. Carbon fiber EPS epoxy structure is very strong, super light and really flexible and springy, it has just enhanced what was already a really successful model .”
The Bondo is our starting point to get the best out of EPS, Epoxy, carbon fiber construction, but if you are looking for any of our other models with this application feel free to contact us by e-mail at semente@semente or phone: (+351) 261864448.
